About Teams Life Centre

Teams Life Centre is the new name for the old Teams Community Centre, based on Askew Road West in Gateshead. Teams Life Centre (TLC) was created in 2015 when Dunston Family Church, a local registered Christian charity, obtained a 30 year lease from Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council to operated the building for the benefit of local residents.

Teams Life Centre exists to serve and support the folk of the Teams, Gateshead.

Withing Teams Life Centre we offer a range of community activities for adults and children, rooms available for hire by community group and local businesses, a cafe, a second hand shop, a large sports hall, as well as several rooms of differesnt sizes.

Our Mission

Our aim is to provide social activities and practical support for local people, to promote wellbeing and mental and physical health.

We achieve this by providing activities and support services for all to enjoy.

We provide for a wide range of community groups including: Advance Mens Group; Teams Medical Centre Walking Group; Unity; City Church Refugee Support; Your Voice Counts.

Meet the Team

Most of Teams Life Centre staff are volunteers from the local area but thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund we are able to employ local residents on a part time basis.
